About Us

Steffen Conservation is a studio devoted to the art of conservation and restoration of fine furniture and antiques for both private collectors and dealers in the USA and Europe since 1986.

We also work with Architects and General Contractors restoring Contemporary-Modern/Historic interiors. Custom hand polished and waxed finishes of woodwork. Residential and Commercial Interiors including work with Fire, Water Damage and Insurance Companies.

We collaborate with contemporary designers and craftspeople in the USA, England, and Canada. We offer onsite work nationwide, and evaluation of pieces or collections worldwide. John Steffen does public speaking on furniture, design and topics related to the decorative arts, woodworking and high end hand finishes.

We are third generation dealers with over 130 years of family history in the art and antiques business.

Our studios are now located in three locations: north of Chicago in Wisconsin, Tucson Arizona, and north of San Francisco in Northern California.
